At Oxford University he met the new scientific apprach, and ideas of Bacon, Galileo, etc.
Tutor to the Cavendish family of Hardwick Hall and the young Charles II.
Disturbed by the political turmoil of the Civil War 1642 - 1649
And published his famous solution in "Leviathan" 1651
Died 1679 at Hardwick Hall, Derbyshire aged 91
