POLICE NOTICE - RISKY WEBSITE
A website which may pose a risk has been brought to our attention.
The website is www.b4usearch.com and by clicking on "People" and typing in an individual's name and area it brings up their home address, phone number,details of other members of the household, details of neighbours in the same street and also directions to your home.
If your details can be accessed via this website it is advisable that you have them removed immediately. To do this send an email to privacy@b4u.co.uk requesting that your details be removed from the website.
If they are not removed within 21 days you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office by sending an email to compliance@ico.gsi.uk.
When you first send your email to the website you will probably receive a reply asking to send a second email including further personal details in order to enable them to let you remove your own details in a matter of a few hours. DO NOT comply with this request or fax the number given by them. Merely reply saying that you expect your details to be removed within 21 days or you WILL complain to the Information Commissioner.
It will pay to look yourself up on this website. You will probably be listed although a small proportion of UK residents are not.
Details of residents who do not even own a PC are also included so perhaps if you find any such friends or neighbours, please tell them and if requested take the action detailed above on their behalf.
